Once you are ready to apply, you can fill in and pay (when applicable) for your licence application through the electronic submission platform, My CFIA.
Once you are signed in, complete the following steps.
- In your dashboard, under Party Administration, select the validated party that requires the licence then click Select
- Scroll down to the Service Request section of your party profile dashboard and select New Service Request
- On the Confirm Application Details screen, review the information shown in the pre-populated screens, as this is the profile which will be associated to the licence you will request in the next steps
- On the same screen, scroll down to the Select an application section
- There are 3 options to filter for the livestock feeds licence
- Select Get a licence under the service request type, click Apply filters
- Select Animal, click Apply filters
- Type feed in the Keyword Search field
- There are 3 options to filter for the livestock feeds licence
- Once you see Livestock Feeds Licence in the options under the column Service Name, select it by clicking on the hyperlink
- Read the disclaimer, then click on the Proceed button to progress to the next step
- The next screen will provide the Privacy Notice, which you must read
- Click on Accept to continue
- Enter a name in the Application Name window that will let you easily identify your application in your dashboard
- We recommend that you choose a name that reflects either the activities or the establishment to which this licence is associated
- Click on the button Next step to proceed
- You can also opt to click on the Save and return later button if you need to walk away before finalizing your application
- You can select your partially completed application from your dashboard and complete it later
- Confirm the Primary Contact for your licence
- This field can be selected from the drop-down menu, populated when you created your account and identified the primary contact(s)
- If you need to add a new name, that primary contact can be added under the Manage Party button which is located outside of the window currently displayed
- Confirm the Emergency Contact for your licence
- This field is automatically populated based on the party information you entered in your My CFIA account
- Highlight an establishment in the list of Available Establishment(s) to select the Livestock Feeds Establishment(s) for this specific licence application
- Click the right pointing arrow to move it to the Selected Establishment(s) grid
- Repeat this step if you wish to include other establishments, but it is not recommended
- We suggest having a single establishment per licence to avoid business disruption for all establishments should licence actions be required for a situation involving a single establishment
- If the wrong establishment is selected and appears in the Selected Establishment(s) field, highlight the one you want to remove
- Click on the left pointing arrow to return it to the list of Available Establishment(s)
- The establishment fields have a limited length, use the scroll bar to view the full field
- When applying for a licence, if the establishment is not in the list of Available Establishment(s), you can add it by clicking on the Manage Party button
- Complete your selection
- Click on the Next step button to proceed
- Select the specific activities to be covered by the licence for the establishment(s) you previously selected by clicking the white arrows to the left of the 3 types of livestock feed (livestock feed intended for export, interprovincial trade or imported for sale)
- Select specifically what activity is done for each:
- manufacturing
- storing
- processing
- packaging
- labelling
- selling
- distributing
- Select specifically what activity is done for each:
- Click on the Next step button to proceed
- The Written Preventive Control Plan (PCP) Declaration must be checked by clicking the box
- This section shows a summary of your previously selected establishment(s) and activity(ies) for which you must have a written preventive control plan
- Click on the Next step button to proceed
- Review your Application Summary before reading and attesting to the 2 statements of the Applicant Declaration
- If you need to print a copy of the Application Summary for your records, this option is only available before you submit it
- Click on Print Application to print a copy for your records
- Complete your final review then click the Submit button
- The next screen will confirm the submission of your application
- To exit the application, click on the Return to dashboard button
