Livestock feeds licence: After you apply

After you submit your completed online licence application and payment (when applicable), you will receive an electronic message indicating that your licence has been issued and is available in your My CFIA account.

Your licence expires 2 years after the date on which it was issued or renewed, unless it has been cancelled, deactivated or surrendered before the expiry date. This expiry date is found on your licence.

To renew your licence, you must request a licence renewal through your My CFIA account, which must be processed by the CFIA before your licence expires. The option to request a licence renewal becomes available in your My CFIA account 120 days before your licence expiry date.

If your licence expires, the licence number is no longer valid and it cannot be renewed. However, you can apply for a new licence on your existing My CFIA party profile.

Refer to the next section for more information on feed licence renewals.
