1. Meat inspection systems recognized
1.1 Poultry processing - comminuting, formulating, cooking and canning (non-Swiss origin chicken meat only).
2. Types of meat products accepted for import
2.1 Broths, flavours and extracts prepared from chicken meat imported into Switzerland from CFIA approved foreign countries and establishments. Chicken meat of Swiss origin is not approved to be used. Refer to section 3.1 for certification attestations required.
3. Certification statements/attestations required on the OMIC
3.1 For broths, flavours and extracts prepared from chicken meat which is not originating from Switzerland:
"I hereby certify that:
3.1.1 The meat products specified above have been prepared in establishments recognized for export to Canada and are derived from animals that have been examined and found by ante-mortem and post-mortem inspection at the time of slaughter to be free from disease, and the meat products are suitable in every way for human consumption and are otherwise in compliance with requirements at least equal to those in the applicable Canadian laws and regulations.
3.1.2 The product is derived from chicken meat which was legally imported into Switzerland from a CFIA recognized source (Foreign country name __________ and establishment number __________) under foreign export certificate number __________ and meets all Canadian import requirements as if it were exported from the country of origin directly to Canada.
3.1.3 Every precaution was taken to prevent direct or indirect contact during the processing and packaging of the meat product with any animal product or by-product derived from animals of a lesser zoo sanitary status.
3.1.4 The meat inspection certificate with which the meat was imported into Switzerland is kept on file at the Swiss processing establishment for verification purposes for a minimum of 2 years following the importation.
3.1.5 The poultry meat products were subjected to a heat treatment compliant with Articles 10.4.24 and 10.9.21 of the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) Terrestrial Code."
