Trinidad and Tobago - Export requirements for meat and poultry products

1. Eligible/ineligible product

1.1 Eligible

    • Ruminants:
      • bovine meat derived from animals which were less than 30 months old (UTM) at the time of slaughter
      • sheep and goat meat which was derived from animals which were less than 12 months old at the time of slaughter
      • veal derived from animals which were 36 weeks old or younger at the time of slaughter
      • fresh or frozen bovine liver
    • Note: age restriction does not apply if imported beef from countries recognized as BSE free is processed for export.
  • For all other products see the West Indies

2. Documentation

2.1 Certificate

  • Certificate of Inspection Covering Meat Products (CFIA/ACIA 1454)
  • In case of poultry meat and meat products, the following additional certification statement must be included on the CFIA/ACIA 1454 "The poultry meat and meat products are derived from birds that were not under official quarantine for reportable diseases affecting poultry including Highly Pathogenic Notifiable Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease as defined by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH; founded as Office International des Épizooties (OIE))."
