Effective October 6, 2024, the Indonesian Quarantine Agency (IQA) will require that exporters submit a Prior Notice (K-1.2) via an online portal prior to or shortly after shipping the following products to Indonesia:
- animal and animal products
- fish and fish products
- plant and plant products
A user manual is also available within the portal.
Providing shipment information to Indonesia at the time of export is a new requirement for Canadian exporters of animal and animal products and fish and fish products.
For Canadian exporters of plant and plant products to Indonesia, the prior notice is already in place and will continue to be subject to the Fresh Food of Plant Origin (FFPO) requirements. Part of the Prior Notice process requires exporters to submit specific export certification information including export certificate reference number, place of certificate issuance and date of certificate issuance. It is recommended to complete the Prior Notice as soon as this information is available.
Questions regarding functionality of the portal should be directed to IQA.
We encourage exporters to work closely with their Indonesian importers to understand the requirements regarding the Prior Notice prior to export.
