Primary control zone for multinucleate sphere unknown (MSX) and/or Dermo (PCZ-09 – Tidnish to Green Point Road, NB)

Amended designation order

WHEREAS on February 3, 2025, the boundaries of Primary Control Zone 09 described in the schedule of a Primary Control Zone Declaration Order (referred to in this order as "Declaration Order") were amended by Paul MacKinnon, the President of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, under subsection 27(1) of the Health of Animals ActFootnote 1 for Haplosporidium nelson and/or Perkinsus marinus and whereas I am authorized under section 33 of the Act to exercise the power of the Minister under subsection 27(2) of the Act.

THEREFORE, under subsection 27(2) of the Act, in respect of that primary control zone, I hereby, by order, designate the animals and things listed in the Schedule attached as being capable of being infected or contaminated by Haplosporidium nelson and/or Perkinsus marinus.

Amended declaration order

WHEREAS on November 22, 2024, Jean-Guy Forgeron, Executive Vice-President of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, declared Primary Control Zone 09 in a Declaration Order, pursuant to subsection 27(1) of the Health of Animals ActFootnote 1 (the Act) in respect of Haplosporidium nelson and/or Perkinsus marinus.

WHEREAS I am authorized to exercise the power of the Minister under section 27.3 of the Act to amend an order made under subsection 27(1) of the Act.

THEREFORE, by this order, I amend the Primary Control Zone described in the Schedule of the Declaration Order referred to above by replacing it with the Primary Control Zone described in the attached Schedule.

THEREFORE, I hereby declare, pursuant to subsection 27(1) of the Health of Animals ActFootnote 1, that the area described in the Schedule attached is a Primary Control Zone, effective the date below.
