- Origin & Breeding: bred from the cross (Wischip x B5141-6) at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin (USA) in 1976.

Botanical Features
- Plants: medium, semi-spreading; stems have irregular purple-brown mottle near nodes; prominent straight wings; slightly swollen nodes.
- Leaves: medium green, semi-open, slightly pubescent; midribs light green; acute insertion of petioles on stem, pigmented at insertion.
Terminal leaflets: ovate; apex acuminate; base cordate and asymmetrical.
Primary leaflets: four pairs; ovate; apex acuminate; base cordate and asymmetrical. - Flowers: fairly abundant, medium white corolla, waxy gold star; yellow anthers; flower buds not pigmented.
- Tubers: oval to oblong; buff skin; medium deep eyes; white flesh.
- Sprouts: conical to narrow cylindrical; base deep purple, very pubescent; apex weakly pigmented.
Agricultural Features
Medium yielding variety; good storability; medium dormancy period; high dry matter. Susceptible to growth cracks; resistant to blackspot; tolerant to drought.
- Utilization: mealy texture with no or little after cooking sloughing; good for boiling and baking; excellent for chipping even after long storage (9 months).
- Chief Market: chipping.
Reaction to Diseases
Highly resistant: common scab, PVS.
Moderately resistant: early blight, leaf roll, PVY.
Susceptible: late blight.
