General
- Origin & Breeding: bred from the cross (Gem Russet x A8341-5) made in 1990, in Aberdeen, Idaho. Selected by the United States Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS) and the Agricultural Experiment Stations of Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Released in 2004.

Botanical Features
- Plants: medium sized, semi-erect; stems lightly pigmented; weakly prominent wings; nodes not or very slightly swollen.
- Leaves: dark yellowish green, glossy; semi-open; midribs and petioles not or very weakly pigmented; shallow to medium deep veins.
Terminal leaflets: broadly ovate; tip acuminate; base obtuse; slightly to medium wavy margins.
Primary leaflets: two to five pairs; large; medium ovate; tip acuminate; base cordate; slightly to medium wavy margins. - Flowers: numerous, white corolla with prominent star; yellowish orange anthers; flower buds not pigmented.
- Tubers: oblong; russetted brown skin, yellow at the base of eyes; shallow to moderately deep eyes, predominantly apical; slightly prominent eyebrows; white flesh.
- Sprouts: conical; red-violet; base moderately pubescent, moderately pigmented; tip moderately pubescent, not pigmented, semi-open habit.
Agricultural Features
High yielding variety; tubers of attractive appearance; good resistance to second growth, growth cracks and stem-end discolouration; moderate resistance to blackspot and shatter bruising; highly susceptible to hollow heart in late harvest. To reduce hollow heart occurrence, use close in-row spacing such as 20-25 cm. Good resistance to cold sweetening; good french fry color. Medium-long dormancy period. High specific gravity.
- Utilization: very good for baking and frying.
- Chief Markets: fresh market, french fry processing and dehydrated products.
Reaction to Diseases
Highly resistant: common scab, powdery scab, PVX.
Moderately resistant: verticillium wilt (V. dahliae), Erwinia soft rot, tuber net necrosis, corky ringspot.
Susceptible: late blight, fusarium dry rot, rhizoctonia.
Highly susceptible: PVY, leaf roll.
