Effective July 27, 2020 the United States section, including additional certificates (Annexes A-1, A-2, A-3 and C) of the export requirements library have been reviewed and updated. This includes:
- removal of requirements for pork jowls and Annexes B, L-2, L-4, N-1, P, W-1
- revision of subsections on:
- mechanically separated beef meat (MSM)
- ineligible products (horse meat, poultry meat imported from Brazil, Hungary and Argentina)
- time-temperature requirements for chilling poultry carcasses
- Salmonella testing standards for non-heat treated ready-to-eat (RTE) products
- requirements around retained water in single ingredient raw products
- annexes G, L, L-3, L-6, N, Q and Z
- requirements for products exported for pharmaceutical use only, for Canadian commissaries and for certification of graded poultry meat have been added
- new FSIS microbiological requirements (new Annex T-1) have been introduced which will be effective as of January 2021
The amended additional certificates (Annexes A-1, A-2, A-3 and C) are available to the CFIA inspection staff through Read Import Country Requirements (ICR) of Meat Export E-Cert. However, the USDA will accept old versions of Annex A-1, 2, 3 and Annex C until September 30, 2020.
