We have updated our plant health requirements to simplify importation of certain invertebrates into Canada.
The requirements for importing invertebrates are provided in the CFIA directive D-12-02: Import Requirements for Potentially Injurious Organisms (Other than Plants) to Prevent The Importation of Plant Pests in Canada.
We have updated section 1: Tropical butterflies (lepidoptera) and section 2: Other invertebrates of appendix 1 of the directive to include approximately 400 invertebrates, identified at the species or genus level.
