May 21, 2026, Ottawa
Effective May 5, 2026, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) cancelled the Safe Food for Canadians (SFC) licence (#8HVB3GBW) of TC Distributor Inc., located in North York, Ontario.
With this cancellation, the licence holder may not conduct any activity for which SFC licence #8HVB3GBW was issued.
The CFIA conducted a target border lookout inspection related to the import of non-permitted meat products from Vietnam and found non-compliances related to:
- mislabeling and lack of labelling
- importation of food commodities not covered by the SFC licence (#8HVB3GBW)
- failure to declare products
- the importation of meat products from a non-approved country
The licence holder was provided with an opportunity to be heard. Based on a review of the facts and submissions made by the licence holder, the CFIA determined the licence holder contravened section 15 of the Safe Food for Canadians Act (SFCA) and failed to comply with multiple sections of the SFCR. The CFIA cancelled its licence under section 22 of the Safe Food for Canadians Act (SFCA) and paragraph 39(e) (and in accordance with the procedural requirements set out in subsection 40(1)) of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations(SFCR).
There is no recall associated with this cancellation.
Licence holders are responsible for ensuring they comply with Canada's food laws. The CFIA is committed to enforcing those laws.
