CFIA cancels the Safe Food for Canadians licence of Dan Gifts Inc. (Licence # 4C4XDYJ9), Laval, Quebec

July 27, 2026, Ottawa

Effective July 24, 2026, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) cancelled the Safe Food for Canadians (SFC) licence # 4C4XDYJ9 of Dan Gifts Inc., located in Laval, Quebec.

With this cancellation, the licence holder may not conduct any activity for which SFC licence # 4C4XDYJ9 was issued.

On March 27, 2026, the CFIA suspended the licence because the licence holder had failed to take corrective actions to comply with the following Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) requirements for imported food:

  • Identification and analysis of hazards;
  • Complaints, recall and traceability procedures;
  • Failure to give assistance to the inspector;
  • Failure to provide the requested documents, information and access to data.

A licence may be revoked if its holder fails to take corrective action within ninety (90) days following a suspension.

At the end of this period, the CFIA notified Dan Gifts Inc. of the grounds being considered for licence cancellation. The licence holder was provided with an opportunity to be heard. Based on a review of the facts and submissions made by the licence holder, the CFIA determined that the licence holder failed to comply with multiple sections of the SFCR and cancelled its licence under paragraph 39 a) and subsection 40 (1) of the SFCR.

There is no recall associated with this cancellation.

Licence holders are responsible for ensuring they comply with Canada's food laws. The CFIA is committed to enforcing those laws.

The CFIA publishes licence suspensions and cancellations on its website.
