The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) cancelled the Safe Food for Canadians (SFC) licence # 6GLGM9X4 issued to 2005937 Alberta Inc. dba BOOBY FOOD, located in Calgary, Alberta, effective April 22, 2026.
With this cancellation, the licence holder may not conduct any activity for which SFC licence # 6GLGM9X4 was issued.
Prior to the cancellation, the CFIA suspended the SFC licence # 6GLGM9X4 of 2005937 Alberta Inc. dba BOOBY FOOD for failing to comply with several regulatory requirements.
The suspension occurred on March 5, 2025. A license may be revoked if its holder fails to take corrective action within ninety (90) days following a suspension.
The CFIA notified BOOBY FOOD on February 16, 2026, of the grounds being considered for licence cancellation based on non‑compliances. The licence holder was provided with an opportunity to be heard on March 12, 2026.
The CFIA determined that the licence holder failed to take corrective action on identified non-compliances and on April 22, 2026, cancelled its licence in accordance with section 22 of the Safe Food for Canadians Act and section 39(a) of the SFCR.
The company was notified that the licence was cancelled for failures to comply with Part 4 (Preventive Controls) of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations, including:
- Deficiencies in hazard analysis and the preventive control plan framework
- Sanitation and preventive control system deficiencies
- Failure to adequately manage chemical risks and food safety controls
- Equipment design, maintenance, and sanitation shortcomings
- Incomplete validation of food safety, storage, and transportation practices
There is no food recall associated with this cancellation. Product seized while the licence was suspended will be disposed of by the CFIA.
