CFIA suspends the Safe Food for Canadians licence of Goodfood Market Corp (Licence # 4XTRKB3N), Saint-Laurent, Quebec

December 31, 2025, Ottawa

On December 30, 2025, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) suspended the Safe Food for Canadians (SFC) licence # 4XTRKB3N of Goodfood Market Corp, in Saint-Laurent, Quebec.

While the suspension is in effect, the licence holder may not conduct any activity for which SFC licence # 4XTRKB3N was issued.

The CFIA suspended the licence under paragraph 35(1)(a) of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), which authorizes the Minister to suspend a SFC licence when a licence holder does not comply with applicable requirements under the Safe Food for Canadians Act (SFCA) and its Regulations, or the Food and Drugs Act (FDA) and its Regulations. In this case, the non-compliances were related to Part 4 of the SFCR.

There is no recall associated with this suspension.

Licence holders are responsible for ensuring that they comply with Canada's food laws. The CFIA is responsible for enforcing those laws.

The licence suspension will be lifted when it is determined that corrective measures have been taken by the licence holder. If corrective action is not taken within 90 days after the suspension, the licence may be cancelled. The licence may also be cancelled on other grounds set out in section 39 of the SFCR. Cancellation may occur after the licence holder has been notified of the grounds for cancellation and provided with an opportunity to be heard.

Safe Food for Canadians licences can be suspended:

  • for failure to comply with the SFCA, the FDA and their related regulations;
  • for default of payment of any fee related to the licence; and
  • if risk of injury to the public may result from continuing to conduct the licensed activity.

The CFIA publishes licence suspensions and cancellations on its website.
