The Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) set out key requirements that apply to most food. They are:
- food licences
- preventive controls and preventive control plan, and
- traceability
Refer to the Overview of key SFCR requirements by food commodity to find out whether these requirements apply to you based on your food business activities.
In addition to the key requirements, the SFCR prescribes commodity-specific requirements that only apply to that food. Find explanations of these additional requirements and commodity-specific guidance such as recommended preventive controls.
