Production controls and inspection requirements

  • Dairy ingredients and dairy products must have undergone the ad hoc treatments specified at Appendix XI of decree No 2014-333/GNC for inactivating the pathogens of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), rinderpest and tuberculosis or meet the following requirements:
    1. The products or their constituents or raw materials are entirely derived from animals that, from birth or for not less than 3 months up to and including milking, have stayed in and travelled through only countries or zones:
      1. specified at Appendix VIII-5 of decree No 2014-333/GNC; and,
      2. that were not subject to any bans (at the time the animals were staying in or travelling through such countries or zones) as specified at Appendix VIII-5 column 3 of decree No 2014-333/GNC; and,
      3. that were (at the time the animals were staying in or travelling through such countries or zones) FMD-free where vaccination is not practised and rinderpest-infection free; and,
      4. in which there has been no evidence of foot-and-mouth disease or rinderpest:
        1. up until this certificate was issued; or,
        2. within three months after the animals stayed in or travelled through or were milked in such countries or zones.
    2. The products or their constituents or raw materials are entirely derived from animals that have always remained at a distance of not less than 10 km away from any case of foot-and-mouth disease or rinderpest
    3. The products or their constituents or raw materials are entirely derived from animals that are from a tuberculosis free herd.
  • Imported dairy ingredients must meet the New Caledonia's requirements as described on the health certificate. The exporter must provide the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) with the relevant documentation from the competent authorities of exporting countries.
