Eligibility of species for export are based on Pest Risk Assessment (PRA) by Thailand and subsequent development of phytosanitary import requirements. For more information, please consult with your local CFIA Plant Health office well in advance of export.
Production controls and inspection requirements
All shipments of fresh fruit and vegetables grown and packed for the purpose of export to Thailand must comply with the following regulatory requirements of Thailand
- Notification of the Ministry of Public Health No. 386 B.E. 2560 (2017) - PDF with respect to prescription of production process, equipment and utensil for production and storage of some fresh fruits or vegetables and labeling
- Notification of the Ministry of Public Health No. 420 B.E. 2563 (2020) - PDF with respect to food production processes, processing equipment/ utensils and storage practices
Note: in a letter to Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) dated September 23, 2025, Thailand's Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Public Health confirmed that the food safety requirements of the above 2 regulations for fresh fruits and vegetables may be met by CanadaGAP certification in Canada.
Note: if not certified by CanadaGAP, an exporter may be able to meet Thai regulatory requirements through another certification program. It is recommended that exporters communicate with their importer in Thailand to determine if they meet the above import requirements prior to export.
