An appointment is required to get your pet export certificate endorsed by an official CFIA veterinarian. Please provide as much advance notice as possible when booking an appointment.
CFIA endorsement of a pet export certificate cannot be done after the animal(s) leave Canada.
How to prepare for your appointment
- 1) Make sure to obtain all necessary documents for bringing your pet on a trip
The absence of documents can cause delays in obtaining the signature of an export certificate by the CFIA. - 2) Schedule a visit to your veterinarian as the export certificate for pets must be reviewed and signed by a private veterinarian
- 3) Contact a local CFIA office to book your appointment in advance
To help us prioritize and provide our services in a timely manner, walk-in appointments will not be accepted. - 4) You will need to pay a service fee online
Once you book your appointment, the service fee will be calculated for you by a CFIA officer. The online payment must be completed at least 3 days before your appointment. You will receive further instructions on how to make this payment once you book your appointment.- A credit card or prepaid credit card is needed to make an online payment. Debit cards are not accepted
- 5) Once an appointment has been scheduled, the service fee is non-refundable
- No refund will be issued for cancelled appointments
- If your flight is cancelled or rescheduled, please contact us as soon as possible to cancel or reschedule your appointment
- If you reschedule your appointment and have already paid, this payment remains valid for your new appointment
