Exporters are advised that in order to be eligible for certification to Vietnam they must contact their local Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) office in advance of export to determine the requirements. If you require any other information on export certification, contact your local CFIA Office.
The following certificates are available:
- Aquatic Animal Health Certificate for the Export of Live Aquatic Animals Intended for Human Consumption from Canada to Vietnam (AQAH-1025)
- AQAH-1025 is a Joint Certificate containing both Food Safety/Public Health and Aquatic Animal Health attestations
- AQAH-1025 must be validated, dated and issued while the product is still in Canada.
- Product which in not located in Canada at the time of signature is not eligible for certification using this export certificate
- In addition to the AQAH-1025 certificate, each shipment must also be accompanied by a certificate of Origin and Hygiene CFIA/ACIA 5003

- Aquatic Animal Health and Sanitary Certificate covering chilled / frozen fish fillets and steaks (AQAH-1112)
- Certificate (AQAH-1112) only applies to the export of eviscerated finfish fillets and steaks prepared and packaged for retail trade for human consumption to Vietnam in certain susceptible species of finfish harvested in waters that are officially declared by the CFIA as infected with World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) listed diseases. Examples include:
- farmed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar)
- wild and farmed Pacific salmon (Oncorhynchus spp.)
- wild herring (Clupea spp.)
- AQAH-1112 is a Joint Certificate containing both Food Safety/Public Health and Aquatic Animal Health attestations
- AQAH-1112 must be validated, dated and issued while the product is still in Canada
- Product which in not located in Canada at the time of signature is not eligible for certification using this export certificate

- Consignments of fishery products being imported as materials for further processing and re-export to another non-European Union country, and not for consumption in Vietnam, do not need to be accompanied by a CFIA/ACIA 5633 certificate. Only certificate CFIA/ACIA 5003 is required.
