Aquatic animal export: certification requirements for Malaysia

Exporters are advised that in order to be eligible for certification to Malaysia they must contact their local Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) Office in advance of export to determine the requirements. If you require any other information on export certification, please contact your local CFIA Office.

The following certificates are available:

  • Aquatic Animal Health Certificate for the Export of Live Crustaceans for Human Consumption from Canada to Malaysia (AQAH-1050)
    • The AQAH-1050 must be validated, dated and issued by the CFIA Veterinary Inspector while the product is still in Canada and available for inspection. Product which in not located in Canada at the time of signature is not eligible for certification using this export certificate

  • Aquatic Animal Health Certificate for the Export of Live Molluscs for Human Consumption from Canada to Malaysia (AQAH-1051)
    • The AQAH-1051 must be validated, dated and issued by the CFIA Veterinary Inspector while the product is still in Canada and available for inspection. Product which in not located in Canada at the time of signature is not eligible for certification using this export certificate

Important Note:

  • Malaysia has aquatic animal health requirements for imports of both live finfish for human consumption and live ornamental aquatic animals. For these specific commodities, until such time as a negotiated certificate is available, shipments exported without an aquatic animal health certificate may be detained in Malaysia.
