Designation order
WHEREAS, on May 29, 2025, primary control zone 13 was declared by Paul MacKinnon, the President of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, under subsection 27(1) of the Health of Animals ActFootnote 1 for Haplosporidium nelsoni and/or Perkinsus marinus; and whereas I am authorized under section 33 of the Act to exercise the power of the Minister under subsection 27(2) of the Act.
THEREFORE, under subsection 27(2) of the Act, in respect of that primary control zone, I hereby, by order, designate the animals and things listed in the Schedule attached as being capable of being infected or contaminated by Haplosporidium nelsoni and/or Perkinsus marinus.

Declaration order
WHEREAS I, Paul MacKinnon, President of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, under the delegated authority of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food (the Honorable Heath MacDonald), believe that the reportable diseases, Haplosporidium nelsoni and/or Perkinsus marinus, exist in the area in Canada described in the schedule attached hereto.
THEREFORE, I hereby declare, pursuant to subsection 27(1) of the Health of Animals ActFootnote 1, that the area described in the Schedule attached is a Primary Control Zone, effective the date below.

- All waters within lines drawn beginning at points 45.64495° north latitude, -61.41795° west longitude near the Canso Causeway Southeast through the Strait of Canso, dividing Cape Breton Island from Mainland NS to points 45.41153° north latitude, -60.96024° west longitude, continuing Southeast to points 43.54305° north latitude, -57.99922° west longitude, South to points 43.00034° north latitude, -57.99926° west longitude, Southwest to points 42.13972° north latitude, -60.59879° west longitude, Northwest to points 44.62790° north latitude, -63.2817114° west longitude near Lower Three Fathom Harbour.
