October 25, 2018, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the fish import licence of 2372761 Ontario Inc. (AJ International Trading Inc.), effective October 22, 2018. The company is located in Scarborough, Ontario.

There is no recall associated with this suspension.

The fish import licence was suspended because the company contravened paragraph 6(2)(e) of the Fish Inspection Regulations. The company failed to notify the CFIA of imported shipments of fish products either prior to importation or within 48 hours following the importation.

The company may not import fish into Canada while its fish import licence is suspended.

An appeal can be requested within 60 days of suspension of the fish import licence. This request must be accompanied by an acceptable, written corrective action plan.
