- Origin & Breeding: bred from the cross (Keswick x USDA96-56) made and selected by Agriculture Canada at the Fredericton Research Station, New-Brunswick, in 1950.
- Year registered in Canada: 1958

- Maturity: early to mid-season
- Plants: medium height, slightly spreading, open; stems occasionally branching, not pigmented above ground, white tinged with purple under ground; straight wings.
- Leaves: green, glossy, slightly wrinkled; closed; tendency to have a slight to pronounced rim roll depending on the degree of maturity; midribs green.
Terminal leaflets: large, broad, drooping.
Primary leaflets: large, broad; first pair slightly overlapping terminal leaflets.
- Flowers: few; white corolla; yellow anthers; petioles start well down stem, consequently blossoms do not stand above top of plant; buds green, persistent; no berry production.
- Tubers: round to elliptical, medium size; smooth buff skin, slightly netted; shallow eyes; eyebrows long, curved and prominent; white flesh.
- Sprouts: spherical, purple, pubescent.
High yielding variety; tubers of attractive appearance; susceptible to skinning and bruising; medium specific gravity.
- Utilization: excellent for boiling and baking.
- Chief Market: early fresh market.
Reaction to Diseases
Resistant: late blight (race 1).
Susceptible: PVA, PVX, PVY, leaf roll, common scab, fusarium.
Highly susceptible: verticillium wilt.
