- Origin & Breeding: bred from the cross (B3820-14 x PI214372) and selected by the USDA, Washington State University and the Washington State Potato Commission. Released in 1969.

- Plants: medium size; erect and very branching habit; stems green; straight double wings, slightly prominent.
- Leaves: dark green, medium-open, slightly pubescent. Petioles and midribs are green and pubescent.
Terminal leaflets: broadly ovate; apex acuminate; base truncate and asymmetrical.
Primary leaflets: three to four pairs; broadly ovate; apex acuminate; base truncate and asymmetrical.
Secondary and tertiary leaflets: numerous.
- Flowers: very abundant; light lavender fading to white corolla, star very prominent; orange anthers; buds moderately pigmented, persistent; medium berries production.
- Tubers: oval to oblong; buff colored flaky skin that shows occasional slight cracking; medium shallow eyes, evenly distributed; eyebrows non prominent; cream coloured flesh.
- Sprouts: narrow cylindrical, moderately pubescent; base weakly pigmented with red-violet; tip green; long lateral shoots.
High yielding variety, tubers are relatively free of internal defects such as net necrosis. Initially released for early French fry processing directly out of the field. Medium specific gravity. Short dormancy.
- Utilization: no boiling sloughing and no after cooking discoloration; excellent for french frying, good for baking and boiling.
- Chief Markets: fresh market, french fry processing.
Reaction to Diseases
Moderately resistant: verticillium wilt (Verticillium albo-atrum).
Moderately susceptible: early blight.
