- Origin & Breeding: genetic modification of the variety Russet Burbank (insertion of a Bacillius thuringiensis gene and a resistance to PLRV) made by Monsanto Company in St-Louis, Missouri (USA). Released in 1998.

Botanical Features
- Plants: tall, spreading; stems weakly to moderately pigmented; prominent wings, waved single; nodes moderately swollen, not pigmented.
- Leaves: medium olive green, open; midribs pubescent; petioles weakly pigmented.
Terminal leaflets: medium ovate; tip acute; base obtuse and symmetrical; weakly wavy margins.
Primary leaflets: five pairs; narrowly ovate; tip acute; base cordate and slightly asymmetrical. - Flowers: low to medium profusion, white corolla; lemon yellow anthers; flower buds strongly pigmented; peduncles slightly pigmented.
- Tubers: long; netted buff skin; many deep eyes, evenly distributed; slightly prominent eyebrows; white flesh.
- Sprouts: ovoid; strongly pubescent; base purple; apex green, closed habit.
Agricultural Features
Highly resistant to Colorado potato beetle, leafroll virus and net necrosis.
The original Russet Burbank is a medium to high yielding variety of attractive appearance and washes well at maturity. Requires a uniform moisture supply and long growing season to produce maximum quality tubers and to prevent knobbiness and second growth. To produce large tubers, plants must be spaced 30 to 45 cm apart. Long dormancy period, stores well. High total solids.
- Utilization: good boiling and excellent baking and frying quality.
