General
- Origin & Breeding: genetic modification of the variety Superior (insertion of a Bacillius thuringiensis gene) made by Mosanto Company in St-Louis, Missouri (USA). Released in 1998.

Botanical Features
- Plants: medium tall, semi-erect; stems very weakly pigmented; wings prominent, waved double; slightly swollen nodes, not pigmented.
- Leaves: yellowish-green, open; midribs and petioles not pigmented.
Terminal leaflets: medium ovate; apex acute; base cordate and very slightly asymmetrical; medium wavy margins.
Primary leaflets: five pairs; narrowly ovate; apex acute; base cordate and asymmetrical. - Flowers: moderately numerous; medium size mauve corolla, prominent star, white tips; orange anthers; flower buds very weakly pigmented; peduncle not pigmented.
- Tubers: oval; smooth to slightly netted buff skin; numerous medium deep eyes, evenly distributed; moderately prominent eyebrows; creamy white flesh.
- Sprouts: ovoid; purple; base moderately pigmented and weakly pubescent; tip weakly pigmented and moderately pubescent.
Agricultural Features
Resistant to Colorado Potato Beetle. The NL10-SUP plants are more vigorous and more resistant to drought than those of the variety Superior. Require 30% less of the nitrogen fertilization to maximize marketable yields. Susceptible to tuber malformation when grown at high nitrogen fertility and wide in-row spacing.
High yielding variety, well adapted to mechanical harvesting. Short dormancy period, stores well, washes excellently. Tubers size early and are not subject to internal defects. Medium specific gravity.
- Utilization: fair to good for boiling, baking and french frying; excellent for chipping.
- Chief Markets: early fresh market and chipping.
Reaction to Diseases
Moderately resistant: common scab.
Susceptible: black leg, fusarium dry rot, late blight, leaf roll, seed-piece decay, PVX, PVY.
Highly susceptible: verticillium wilt.
