Origin & Breeding: bred from the cross (AO82281-1 x Ranger Russet) made by the Colorado State University at the San Luis Valley Research Centre (Colorado) in 1992, and selected by the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Lethbridge Research Center, Alberta.

Plants: medium height, semi-erect; weak pigmentation at base of stems and on upper nodes; prominent waved single wings; nodes swollen.
Leaves: dark green; closed silhouette; midribs very weakly pigmented at petiolules attachment.
Terminal leaflets: broadly ovate; tip acuminate; base obtuse; strongly wavy margins.
Primary leaflets: broadly ovate; tip cuspidate; base cordate.
Secondary leaflets: moderately numerous.
Flowers: moderately numerous; red-violet corolla with prominent star; lemon yellow anthers; flower buds moderately pigmented.
Tubers: large; oblong to long; buff coloured netted skin; shallow eyes, intermediate in number, evenly distributed; non prominent eyebrows; cream flesh.
Sprouts: conical; blue-violet; weakly pubescent; base very strongly pigmented; tip moderately pigmented, closed habit.

Very high yielding variety; low incidence of internal and external tuber defects; very good storage capability; medium to high specific gravity.

Utilization: excellent for French frying; low sloughing after boiling and low discolouration after cooking.
