General
- Origin & Breeding: bred from the cross (A75175-1 x A75188-3) made in 1981, in Aberdeen, Idaho. Selected by the United States Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS) and the Agricultural Experiment Stations of Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Released in 1999.

Botanical Features
- Plants: medium height, spreading; stems not pigmented; wings single, waved and straight; nodes slightly swollen, not pigmented.
- Leaves: medium green, semi-open; midribs and petioles not pigmented.
Terminal leaflets: medium ovate; tip acute; base obtuse to cordate, moderately asymmetrical; moderately wavy margins.
Primary leaflets: five pairs; narrowly ovate; tip acute; base cordate and asymmetrical. - Flowers: moderately numerous, white corolla with prominent star; bright yellow anthers; flower buds, calix and peduncles not pigmented.
- Tubers: oblong; russetted brown skin; few shallow eyes, predominantly apical; non prominent eyebrows; white flesh.
- Sprouts: spherical; green; base and tip not pubescent and not pigmented; closed tip habit; few short lateral shoots.
Agricultural Features
High yielding variety; tubers of attractive appearance; few tubers per plant; large tuber size. High proportion of marketable tubers. Good resistance to growth cracks and second growth; moderately resistant to blackspot bruise and hollow heart; moderately susceptible to shatter bruise. Total nitrogen recommendations are approximately 40% less than for Russet Burbank. Medium dormancy period. High specific gravity.
- Utilization: very good for frying and baking.
- Chief Markets: processing as french fries, fresh market.
Reaction to Diseases
Highly resistant: Verticillium wilt, common scab, PVY, tuber net necrosis.
Moderately resistant: early blight, Erwinia soft rot.
Susceptible: late blight, leaf roll, PVS, corky ringspot, Fusarium dry rot.
