Foods Containing Meat and Fish that are Classified as Fish Products and Exempt from the Meat Inspection Regulations
Product Accepted Process - Ingredients
Bacon Wrapped Scallops
  • Bacon slices are wrapped around the scallops.
  • Bacon slices can be trimmed and cut to fit around the scallops.
  • Bacon wrapped scallops can be subject to further processes such as cooking or breading by the manufacturer after assembly.
Canned Abalone with Chicken Extract (broth)
  • pre-canning, abalone may be mixed with prepared chicken extract (broth) and other ingredients.
  • only prepared chicken extract (broth) may be used.
Clam Chowder with Bacon
  • Pre-cooked bacon bits can be added to the clam chowder.
  • Bacon pieces can be added to the chowder preparation that will then be cooked.
  • Bacon slices can be cut to size and added to the chowder preparation that will then be cooked.
Fish with Ground Pork Shaped as Balls, Sticks, or Rolls
  • Ground pork is mixed with fish and processed into its final form. Product may be wrapped with other food (not meat) ingredients.
  • Only ground pork can be used in the preparation of this product.
Fish Fillet with Prosciutto
  • Slice of prosciutto (dry cured, ready-to-eat Italian style ham) is added to fish fillet.
  • Other food (not meat) ingredients, including breading, may be added.
  • Prosciutto cannot be sliced by the manufacturer.
"Gourmet Stuffed Clams, Casino Style"
  • Bacon mixture may be combined with clams to form the final product.
  • Bacon may be cut (e.g., chopped) and mixed with the other ingredients.
  • Only cooked bacon may be used.
"Kickin' Crab and Sweet Corn Chowder"
  • Only chicken broth already prepared may be used as an ingredient.
"Land and Sea Paella"
  • Only meat already prepared may be used as an ingredient.
  • The product can be subject to further processes such as cooking by the manufacturer only after ingredients have been assembled in a final package.
  • The percentage of fish ingredients is greater than that of the meat in the final assembled product.
Scallop Burgers with Bacon
  • Bacon pieces mixed with other ingredients to form scallop burgers.
  • Only prepared bacon slices or bacon pieces to be used.
Sensations by Compliments West Coast Style Clam Chowder Soup
  • Only fully cooked meat products can be used as an ingredient in the manufacturing of this product.
Shrimp and Bacon
  • Bacon slices are wrapped around the shrimp.
  • Bacon slices can be trimmed and cut to fit the shrimp.
  • Bacon wrapped shrimp can be subject to further processes such as cooking or breading by the manufacturer after assembly.
Shrimp and Bison Mixture
  • Cut bison meat is mixed with other ingredients and combined with shrimp.
  • Only cut bison meat to be used.
Shrimp and Sausage Skewers (kebabs)
  • Sausage is cut to size and placed on a skewer.
  • Other food ingredients (not meat) may be placed on the skewer.
  • Only prepared sausage can be used.
Sole cordon bleu
  • Diced cooked or partially cooked ham can be used in the assembly of the final product.
  • Final product can be subject to further processes such as cooking or breading by the manufacturer after assembly.
  • Hams cannot be cut or sliced by the manufacturer as these actions are not considered trimming.
Panko Crusted Plaice with Bacon and Leeks
  • Source of bacon must be from an approved domestic or foreign federally registered meat establishment.
  • Bacon pieces can be chopped into finer pieces.
  • Panko crusted Plaice with Bacon & Leek can be subjected to further processes such as cooking by the manufacturer after assembly.
Applewood Smoked Bacon Wrapped Atlantic Salmon
  • Source of bacon must be from an approved domestic or foreign federally registered meat establishment
  • Bacon slices can be trimmed and cut to fit around fillet Bacon wrapped salmon can be subjected to further processes such as cooking or breading by the manufacturer after assembly

Product Accepted Process - Ingredients
Beef burger stuffed with garlic shrimps
  • Only shrimps that are ready to be incorporated to the product can be used - processing of the shrimps is limited to cutting, when necessary for the burger assembly.
  • The shrimps may be mixed with other ingredients as permitted in the Food and Drug Regulations.
  • The final product, once assembled, can be subject to further processing such as cooking or breading by the manufacturer.
Beef rolls stuffed with shrimp
  • Only shrimps that are ready to be incorporated to the product can be used - processing of the shrimps is limited to chopping for the meat roll assembly.
  • The shrimps may be mixed with other ingredients as permitted in the Food and Drug Regulations.
BBQ Pork Bun with Shrimp
  • Only shrimps that are ready to be incorporated to the product can be used - processing of the shrimps is limited to cutting, chopping and/or mincing, when necessary, for uniform incorporation into the filling.
  • The shrimps may be mixed with other ingredients as permitted in the Food and Drug Regulations.
  • The final product, once assembled, can be subject to further processing such as cooking or breading by the manufacturer.
BBQ Pork Bun with Crab
  • Only crab that is ready to be incorporated to the product can be used - processing of the crab is limited to cutting, chopping and/or mincing, when necessary, for uniform incorporation into the filling.
  • The crab may be mixed with other ingredients as permitted in the Food and Drug Regulations.
  • The final product, once assembled, can be subject to further processing such as cooking or breading by the manufacturer.
Chicken and shrimp with pasta or rice frozen entrées
  • Only shrimps that are ready to be incorporated to the product can be used.
  • The shrimps may be mixed with other ingredients as permitted in the Food and Drug Regulations.
  • The product contains more chicken than shrimp.
Chicken stuffed with lobster meat
  • Lobster meat can be trimmed or cut to fit into chicken breast= La viande de homard.
  • Final product can be subject to further processes such as cooking or breading by the manufacturer after assembly.
  • Only lobster meat removed from the shell may be used.
Jollibee Palabok sauce with shrimp and pork
  • The shrimps may be mixed with other ingredients as permitted in the Food and Drug Regulations.
  • The final product, once assembled, can be subject to further processing such as cooking.
  • The percentage of meat ingredients is greater than that of the fish in the final product.
