Nutrient content claims on foods intended solely for children under 2 years of age

The tables in the Specific nutrient content claim requirements section include the claims that are permitted for foods intended solely for children under two years of age. These claims are [B.01.503(2), FDR]:

Vitamin and mineral nutrient content claims are permitted for foods intended solely for children under two, provided the foods meets the applicable criteria based upon the Daily values for that age group [D.01.004, D.02.002, FDR].

A claim that characterizes the amount of starch in a food (for example, "contains no starch"), is permitted on a food intended solely for children under two [B.01.502(2)(g), FDR]. However, when a representation of the amount of starch is made on a label or in an advertisement, the amount of starch, in grams per serving of stated size, is required in the Nutrition Facts table [B.01.402(4), FDR].
