Production controls and inspection requirements
- An inspector must perform an inspection before the products leave Canada.
- The exporter must provide the inspector with the list of ingredients. This list must be provided by the manufacturer.
- If imported milk ingredients are present in the final product, a certificate issued by the appropriate authority of the country of origin is required. This certificate must meet the public health conditions for which Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) certification will be given.
