Variety Description

Variety used for comparison: 'Redvira'

Summary: The plants of 'Senserno' are tall whereas the plants of 'Redvira' are medium to tall. The leaflets of the leaf of 'Senserno' are medium to large whereas the leaflets of the leaf of 'Redvira' are large. At the peduncle end, the fruit of 'Senserno' has very weak to weak ribbing whereas the fruit of 'Redvira' has a weak to medium degree of ribbing. At maturity, the fruit of 'Senserno' is red, but darker than the fruit of 'Redvira' which is also red. The degree of glossiness of the fruit skin is medium for 'Senserno' whereas the degree is strong for 'Redvira'.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Senserno' (breeder designation 72-245 RZ) is a 2 to 3 locular round tomato developed for loose and cluster harvest production in high tech greenhouses. It originated from a cross made in August of 2012, in De Lier, Netherlands. The resulting hybrid, 'Senserno', was selected in June 2013 for its uniform and stable fruit shape, regular cluster shape, and fruit taste and colour.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Senserno' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number TMT2856, purchased from Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. Two trials were conducted by Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands from 2015 to 2016.
