'DrisRaspEight was selected from the seedling population in October 2008 based on self-fruitful plants, plant size, and glossiness of fruit. 'DrisRaspEight' was asexually propagated in Santa Cruz, California and underwent propagation and continued testing from 2008 and 2014.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'DrisRaspEight' was conducted in Chilliwack, British Columbia during the 2019 growing season. The plots were planted in the spring of 2017 in a randomized complete block design. Each variety was planted in 4 replicates with 3 plants per replicate for a total of 12 plants of each variety. Plants were spaced approximately 76 centimetres apart within rows and 2.1 metres between rows. Measurements were taken from 10 plants or parts of 10 plants of each variety.
