Origin & Breeding History: 'BHTUN65301' was bred and developed by the breeder, Brian Heiser, while employed at Plant 21 LLC, in Bonsall, California, USA. It originated from a controlled cross conducted on November 30, 2013, between a seedling designated '13PC477-02', as the female parent, and the variety 'USTUNI8902' (Supertunia Vista Fuchsia), as the male parent. From the resulting progeny, 'BHTUN65301' was selected on July 3, 2014, for its plant size, plant vigour, and ability to flower early, continuously and profusely. 'BHTUN65301' was first propagated asexually by vegetative cutting on July 3, 2014, in Bonsall, California, USA.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'BHTUN65301' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2017 at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and each one was transplanted into a 15 cm pot on April 14, 2017. The observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants or 10 parts of plants of each variety on June 6, 2017. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
