Origin & Breeding History: 'Snow Mountain' was bred and developed by the breeder, Herman Geers, in Boskoop, Netherlands. It originated from a controlled cross conducted in 1994, between the variety 'The Bride', as the female parent, and an unnamed plant of Exochorda racemosa, as the male parent. From the resulting progeny, 'Snow Mountain' was selected in 1997 for its plant growth habit and vigour, ability to flower throughout the whole plant, disease tolerance, and suitability for use in propagation and production. 'Snow Mountain' was first asexually propagated by softwood cuttings in 1998, in Boskoop, Netherlands.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Snow Mountain' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2013/2759, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office, in Angers, France. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw Variety Center, in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands, in 2014.
