STEM: medium to long, medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration of nodes, weak to medium density hairiness of nodes

LEAF BLADE: medium to long, medium to broad, medium to dark green on upper side, ovate shape, medium degree of undulation of margin, medium to strong blistering, moderately convex profile in cross-section, medium glossiness on upper side

FLOWERING: begins mid-season
PEDUNCLE: semi-drooping attitude
FLOWER: anthocyanin colouration of anther present

STALK: medium to long, medium thickness
CALYX: non enveloping aspect

Origin & Breeding History: 'Chocolony' (breeder's reference 35-1228 RZ) originated from a controlled cross conducted between two proprietary lines in 2016 in Spain. From the resulting progeny, the hybrid brown sweet pepper variety 'Chocolony' was selected in February 2017 in Almeria, Spain for its plant characteristics and its fruit quality, skin color, yield, slow aging and shelf life.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Chocolony' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number PPS1955, purchased from the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2020.
