Summary: The margin of the leaf blade of 'KLEPZ20550' has medium to strong undulation whereas that of 'KLEPZ18551' has weak to medium undulation. The margin and middle of the inner side of the upper and lower petals of 'KLEPZ20550' are medium blue pink whereas those of 'KLEPZ18551' are dark blue pink. The outer side of the upper petal of 'KLEPZ20550' is medium blue pink whereas that of 'KLEPZ18551' is dark blue pink. The outer side of the lower petal of 'KLEPZ20550' is a lighter medium blue pink than that of 'KLEPZ18551'. The zone at the base of the lower petal of 'KLEPZ20550' is white whereas that of 'KLEPZ18551' is blue pink.

Origin & Breeding History: 'KLEPZ20550' originated from a controlled cross conducted by the breeders in Stuttgart, Germany in December of 2012. The cross was made between the female parent variety 'Americana Pink Mega Splash' and the male parent, a proprietary seedling designated 'PZ-2000-Seestern'. The resultant seedlings were selected in June of 2013 based on plant growth habit, flowering time, flower colour, flower colour pattern stability as well as overall plant quality, health and vigour. The selected seedlings were evaluated in numerous greenhouse trials from 2014 to 2019. A single seedling was selected for commercialization and named 'KLEPZ20550' in May of 2014.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'KLEPZ20550' is based on the UPOV Report of Technical Examination, application number PEL 2913, purchased from the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany. The trials were conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany in 2021. Colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
