Origin & Breeding History: 'Anouk Deluxe 179' is a product of a planned breeding program conducted by the breeder, Lammert Koning, in Nuis, Netherlands. It originated from a controlled cross conducted in the summer of 2008, in Nuis, between the Lavandula stoechas variety 'Fathead', as the female parent, and the Lavandula stoechas hybrid designated '1025', as the male parent. From the resulting progeny, 'Anouk Deluxe 179' was selected in the summer of 2009, in Nuis, for its compact plant growth habit, long flower buds, and long flowering period. 'Anouk Deluxe 179' was first propagated by vegetative cuttings in the autumn of 2009, in Nuis, Netherlands.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Anouk Deluxe 179' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2013/1633, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office, in Angers, France. The trial was conducted by the Groupe d'Étude et de contrôle des Variétés Et des Semences, in Cavaillon, France, from 2014 to 2015. The colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
