Origin & Breeding History: 'Fisnics Lil' originated from a hybridization made in Hillscheid, Germany in 2000. The female parent was the variety 'Logia' and the male parent was the variety 'Celebrette Lavender Glow'. The seed was sown in Galdar, Gran Canaria, Spain, where the first selection of the seedlings was conducted. Cuttings from the selected seedling were taken back to Hillscheid for further selection and trial cultivation. The selection criteria used were flower shape, time of flowering, branching habit, plant size and flower colour.

Tests & Trials: 'Fisnics Lil' was tested at Westcan Greenhouses, Langley, British Columbia in spring/summer of 2003. The trials included 18 plants of the candidate and 5 plants of the reference variety. The plants were grown from rooted cuttings transplanted into 9 cm pots on March 25, 2003. On May 27, 2003 the plants were repotted into 15 cm pots and spaced 30 cm apart. All colour determinations were made using the 2001 RHS colour chart and measured characteristics were based on ten measurements for the candidate variety and five measurements for the reference variety.
