Origin & Breeding History: 'KLEDH15076' was bred and developed by the breeder, Silke Wagener, in Stuttgart, Germany. It originated from a controlled cross conducted in September 2011 between the proprietary line designated 'DH-2010-0173', as the female parent, and the proprietary line designated 'DH-2000-Bicolor red (3)', as the male parent. From the resulting progeny, selections were made in May 2012, in Stuttgart, based on plant vigour, plant growth habit, good branching, leaf quality, flower size, flower colour and shape. These selected seedlings were evaluated in greenhouse trials in Stuttgart, in the spring of 2013 and 2014, and were further assessed for plant performance and disease resistance. In April 2014, 'KLEDH15076' was selected in Stuttgart, Germany, to proceed to commercialization.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial of 'KLEDH15076' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2017 at BioFlora Inc., in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on April 14, 2017. The observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants or 10 parts of plants of each variety on June 6, 2017. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
