LEAF BLADE: short, narrow, elliptic shape, acute apex, rounded base, entire margin, no lobing, no variegation
LEAF BLADE (UPPER SIDE): medium green, moderate rugosity
PEDICEL: short to medium length
FLOWERING: only on current year`s growth, begins mid-season
FLOWER: solitary arrangement, upward attitude, single type, medium diameter, rotate shape, concave in lateral cross section, six sepals, overlapping arrangement of sepals, absent or very weak fragrance
SEPAL: medium to long, medium width, elliptic shape, flat in cross-section, moderately incurved in longitudinal section, cuspidate apex, type two base, single colour on upper side, purple (RHS 64A) on upper and lower side, colour is lighter towards middle on upper side, medium undulation of margin, no twisting along longitudinal axis, no petaloid staminoides

Origin & Breeding History: 'Viva Polonia' was bred and developed by Szczepan Marczynski, in Pruszków, Poland. It originated from a cross, conducted in 2004 in Pruszków, Poland, between the female parent variety 'Matka Siedliska' and the male parent variety 'Warszawska Nike'. From the resulting progeny, 'Viva Polonia' was selected in 2006, based on criteria for growth habit, flower density, length of flowering period, and flower colour. Asexual reproduction of 'Viva Polonia' was first conducted by shoot cuttings, in 2007, in Pruszków, Poland.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Viva Polonia' is based on the UPOV report of Technical examination, application number O 1783, purchased from the Centralny Osrodek Badania Odmian Roslin Uprawnych, Research Centre for Cultivar Testing, Slupia Wielka, Poland. The trial was conducted in Chrzastowie, Poland, in 2013. The colour determinations were made using the 2001 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
