Origin & Breeding History: 'KLECA13252' was bred and developed by the breeder, Anita Stoever, in Stuttgart, Germany. The variety originated from a hybrid cross conducted in August 2009 between the proprietary variety 'CA 06 0144', as the female parent, and the proprietary variety 'X 435', as the male parent. Plants were selected from the progeny in May 2010 based on flower colour, flowering time and plant growth habit. The resultant plants were evaluated in greenhouse trials from February to May of 2011 and 2012 in Stuttgart and were further assessed for flower colour, flowering time, plant growth habit and branching characteristics. 'KLECA13252' was selected for commercialization in July 2012 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'KLECA13252' was conducted outdoors in an irrigated hanging basket trial during the summer of 2015 at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference varieties. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 30 cm hanging baskets on May 19, 2015. Each basket contained 4 cuttings with a total of 5 baskets per variety. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants or parts of plants of each variety on July 10, 2015. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
