To prevent the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI), subtype H5, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has established primary control zones (PCZ) in the areas where the disease has been detected.

If you are located in a PCZ permits are required for the movement of birds, their products and by-products through a control zone.
