  • Origin & Breeding: bred from the cross (Saginaw Gold x TATA 9192-15) and released by the Les Buissons Research Center, Quebec Ministery of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in Pointe-aux-Outardes, Quebec. Released in 2002.
  • Year registered in Canada: 2002

  • Maturity: late

Botanical Features

  • Plants: medium; semi-erect; rather large stems, slightly pigmented; prominent single straight wings;  moderately swollen nodes, not pigmented.
  • Leaves: dark green; open.
    Terminal leaflets: broadly ovate; tip acuminate; base cordate and symmetrical; leaf margin moderately waved.
    Primary leaflets: four pairs; large; medium ovate; acuminate tip; base cordate and rather symmetrical.
  • Flowers: few; small white corolla; flower buds strongly pigmented; bright yellow anthers.
  • Tubers: round; flaky yellow skin; moderately numerous shallow eyes, evenly distributed; eyebrows slightly prominent; yellow flesh.
  • Sprouts: spherical; blue-violet; base lightly pigmented and moderately pubescent; apex moderately pigmented, not pubescent.

Agricultural Features

High yielding variety; moderately resistant to hollow heart, brown heart, vascular net necrosis; high dry matter content; long dormancy period (9 months).

  • Utilization: excellent for boiling and baking, very tasty variety; low after boiling sloughing.
  • Chief Market: fresh market.

Reaction to Diseases

Moderately susceptible: common scab.
Susceptible: rhizoctonia, potato wart.
