Certification requirements

  • The attestations on the health certificate CFIA/ACIA FA1049 are met based on Canadian regulations as well as the supporting documents provided by the exporter. For the list of diseases, please refer to the link listed in section 7.

It is the exporter's responsibility to meet all the requirements for labelling, packaging and marking requirements as required by Japan.

6. Documentation requirements

The health certificate below was negotiated with Japan. However, the Japanese competent authorities (CAs) have informed CFIA that additional conditions may be added to those already negotiated. If this is the case, the exporter must provide these new requirements (official documents from the CA) to their local CFIA office. If necessary, the Food Import and Export Division (FIED) of the CFIA can be consulted to confirm these new requirements.

Certificate

  • Health certificate for export of gelbone intended for food purposes to Japan (CFIA/ACIA FA1049)

Note

  • The health certificate is signed by the CFIA official veterinarian
  • If necessary, the additional information section on the health certificate can be used to add new requirements
  • Export certificates cannot be issued for products that have left Canada

7. Other information

Exported products transiting through a country may require transit documentation. It is the responsibility of the exporter to ensure that the shipment will be accompanied by all necessary certificates.

Samples (personal or commercial) may be subject to the same requirements as a regular shipment. It is strongly recommended that the exporter verify these requirements with their importer.
