Notice
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has been informed by Morocco's authorities that registration in a new electronic platform, ATLAS, is required for foreign establishments that manufacture, process, and/or store certain food products, including processed products (fruits and vegetables), that will be exported to Morocco.
Registration in the ATLAS system for applicable products is mandatory as of January 1, 2025. Affected Canadian establishments must initiate the establishment registration process in Morocco's ATLAS system immediately to prevent any issues with future shipments.
Details regarding the registration process can be found on the Morocco ATLAS guidance page.

Morocco's Office National de Sécurité Sanitaire des Produits Alimentaires (ONSSA) requires registration in ATLAS, ONSSA's electronic registration platform, of foreign establishments that manufacture, process and store certain food products prior to export to Morocco, including:
- Juices/nectars
- Heat-treated canned vegetables, including sauces and seasonings
Product registration is also necessary when registering the establishment in ATLAS. The list of processed fruit and vegetable products requiring registration and their HS codes is available in the ATLAS system.
CFIA strongly recommends that Canadian exporters verify requirements with their importer in Morocco before contacting the CFIA.
Details regarding the registration process can be found on the Morocco ATLAS guidance page.
3. Product specifications
Establishments must be aware of and have export control procedures in place to identify and comply with Morocco's specific product standards and requirements.
4. Labelling, packaging, and marking requirements
It is the exporter's responsibility to meet all the requirements for labelling, packaging and marking requirements as required by the importing country.
5. Documentation requirements
Morocco's documentation requirements for processed fruits and vegetables are unknown. Exporters should consult with their importers in Morocco well in advance of export.
6. Other information
Exported products transiting through a country may require transit documentation. It is the responsibility of the exporter to ensure that the shipment will be accompanied by all necessary documents.
Samples (personal or commercial) may be subject to the same requirements as a regular shipment. It is strongly recommended that the exporter verify these requirements with their importer.
