Countries officially recognized by Canada as being free of Newcastle Disease (ND) which is listed in the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH; founded as Office International des Épizooties (OIE)) Terrestrial Animal Code.
Imports of the following from susceptible species originating from countries and/or zones not recognized as free are prohibited:
- live animals
- germplasm
- hatching eggs
- animal products
- animal by-products
The importation of pet birds from countries and/or zones other than those listed on this page may be allowed.
During an outbreak in countries and/or zones usually recognized as free of ND, imports of the following are not permitted from the countries and/or zones not recognized as free:
- live birds
- hatching eggs
- germplasm
- unprocessed avian products and by-products
Additionally, the following imports from other countries and/or zones may not travel through zones not recognized as free on their way to Canada:
- live birds
- poultry
- hatching eggs
Note that, for the United States of America, European Union Member States and the United Kingdom, a restricted zone is a 10 km circular zone around an infected premises and not the entire state or county in the following list.

- All European Union Member States are recognized free of ND except the following affected zones:
- Poland
- Masovian (mazowieckie)
- Podlaskie (podlaskie)
- Greater Poland (wielkopolskie)
- Lubusz (lubuskie)
- Kuyavian-Pomeranian (kujawsko-pomorskie)
- Opole (opolskie)
- Silesian (śląskie)
- Warmian-Masurian (warmińsko-mazurskie)
- Subcarpathian (podkarpackie)
- Lesser Poland (małopolskie)
- Slovakia
- Prešov (prešovský)
- Iceland
- New Zealand
- Switzerland
- Ukraine
