Brazil is officially recognized by Canada as free of certain diseases listed in the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH; founded as Office International des Épizooties (OIE)) Terrestrial animal code.

• Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia
• Foot-and-mouth disease^{Footnote 3}
• Highly pathogenic avian influenza
  • The whole country is under restrictions as of May 12, 2025, until further notice. Shipments of meat slaughtered before May 12, 2025 are eligible for import into Canada.
• Lumpy skin disease
• Peste des petits ruminants
• Rift valley fever
• Sheep pox and goat pox
