Aquatic animal export: certification requirements for Chile

The following certificates are available:

  • Aquatic Animal Health Certificate for the Export of Finfish Germplasm from Canada to Chile (AQAH-1056)
  • Veterinary Health Certificate for the Export of Live Crustaceans from Canada to Chile (AQAH-1002)
  • Sanitary certificate for biological and/or pathogical materials from aquatic animals destined to Chile (AQAH-1097)

Important Notes:

  • At this time, certificate (AQAH-1056) only applies to the export of cod eggs (Gadus morhua).
  • At this time, certificate (AQAH-1002) only applies to the export of live lobster (Homarus americanus).
  • At this time, certificate (AQAH-1097) only applies to the export of biological and/or pathological materials from aquatic animals. This commodity may require an inspection of the animals at the time of sampling. Exporters are advised to contact their CFIA Area Office in advance of harvesting and sampling to determine the requirements and, if required, accommodate the scheduling of inspections which must occur at the time of sampling.
  • There may be existing certificates or additional information from the Fish and Seafood program. However, for the specific commodities above, an aquatic animal health certificate is required.
