CFIA cancels the Safe Food for Canadians Licence of Our Father's Farm

December 31, 2021, Ottawa

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) cancelled the Safe Food for Canadians (SFC) licence # 7J9CHFLD of Our Father's Farm, a food import and retail facility located in Dundas, Ontario, effective December 22, 2021.

With this cancellation, the licence holder may not conduct any activity for which SFC licence # 7J9CHFLD was issued.

The CFIA cancelled the licence because the operator failed to comply with section 4(1)(a), of the Food and Drugs Act.

Following continued non-compliances by the company, Our Father's Farm, was notified on December 13, 2021, of the grounds being considered for licence cancellation and provided an opportunity to be heard.

Prior to the cancellation, the CFIA had suspended the SFC licence # 7J9CHFLD of Our Father's Farm for failure to comply with sections 22.1 (1) and (2) and 23(13), Food and Drugs Act, and section 27 and 16, Safe Food for Canadians Act, to produce documents or information ordered for a food safety investigation and for obstruction of a CFIA inspector.  The suspension occurred  on July 26, 2021.

There is no food recall associated with this cancellation.

Licence holders are responsible for ensuring they comply with Canada's food laws. The CFIA is committed to enforcing those laws.
